Easy Baguettes
A quick and easy recipe for Baguettes to make everyday

- 1 kg Strong white flour
- 4 tsp Instant yeast
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 600 ml Lukewarm water
Mix together the dry ingredients
Add in the warm water and mix to combine with the dry ingredients
Lift and stretch the dough for 10 mins until elastic
Turn out onto a floured surface and knead and stretch for 1 min
Shape into a ball and place back in the bowl. Cover with a clean cloth and leave to proof for 1 hr
Knock back the risen dough and stretch out into a square
Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and begin shaping into long sausage shapes
Cover with a cloth and leave to proof for 20-30 mins
After proofing place into a preheated oven at 180C for 15-20 mins
When golden brown remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before cutting .
Serve as a meal accompaniment or with butter.
