Meet Sam
Hi!
I’m Sam and I live on our little farm in England with my husband and children. Welcome to my ‘About me’ page.
About me- The Farm
Our small farm is just under 12 acres and we keep mostly goats, but we also have pigs, ducks, geese, chickens, 2 donkeys, a steer cow and 2 emus.
On our farm we also grow fruit and vegetables and we are in the process of building a food forest.
We have only had our farm for a short time, but we are growing all the time. We love being able to grow most of our own food and giving our children a happy and healthy lifestyle.
About me-In the Kitchen
I love to cook and bake so everything we grow will end up in my kitchen. I love to get creative in the kitchen. Making new and exciting treats and some of our family favourites too.
Although we have plenty of space on our little farm, most of it is taken up by animals. We had a terrible year last year with flooding so we are starting over. We are building new beds and trying to improve drainage so this doesn’t become a regular problem.
That said we did manage to grow a good amount of food. I was able to make plenty of meals and preserve lots of fruit in the form of jams and chutneys.
I really enjoy using wild foods too. There are so many uses for nettles which is very useful since we had a sea of nettles when we took over the field ?
I truly hope you will enjoy following along on our journey and will enjoy making some of the recipes that I share as we go.
