There is nothing quite so simple and so instantly satisfying than an orange pomander or three. They are so simple to make and take next to no time either. They work surprisingly well at giving a beautiful Christmas scent to the room as the clove that is stuck in wicks the orange oils out and gives off a spicy/ zesty scent.

First thing you will need is some oranges. I generally go for a medium size that’s nice and firm.

Next you need cloves. I usually buy them by the larger bag. It works out cheaper than in the small glass jars and you get plenty to play with. You can get them on amazon here

Now comes the fun part. You literally just jab the clove stem into the orange. Its very satisfying and gives off a nice little burst of spicy orange with every stem you push in.

Keep going until you have made your pattern and your pomander is finished. You can then add ribbons if you like or leave them natural. The choice is yours. Now you know the basics, you can get as creative as you like with the patterns.

Have fun and maybe get the kids involved. Its a fun and really easy project so enjoy yourselves.

Merry Christmas
